Church Words
Let's define some words you'll hear and read about at our church.

Sermon

A pastor teaches from the Bible, God's Word, to help us know who God is, what He's like, and how we can find our identity in Him.

Communion (The Lord's Supper)

This part of worship celebrates and remembers that Jesus Christ died a terrible death on the cross, rose from the dead, and ascended into heaven. We celebrate that because of what Jesus did everything for us has changed.

We take a small piece of bread and a sip of grape juice to remember this moment. It happens towards the end of our worship service because it's the climax of why we gather as Christians.

You don't have to take in it. Feel free to observe. We will alsways give directions from stage so you know what to do.

Tithes & Offering

Since Jesus gave everything for us, we our generous with what we have. Christians have been generous with finances for the last 2,000 years. The money given to the church is an expression of worship and used to do ministry amongst our congregation, in the community, and around the world.

If you'd like to be part of how God is using us to change the world, you can give in person at a service or online using the "Give" button on the top our website.

Baptism

We believe following Jesus is marked by publically announcing your faith in Jesus. This happens in baptism. That's when a Christian submerges you briefly in water. It's a symbol your sin, guilt, and shame are removed and you become a new person in Jesus Christ. Think of it like the old you goes under the water but the new you comes out of the water.
