Paul writes he “felt the sentence of death.” Severe physical danger and deep emotional pain surrounded him. While Paul is facing that in Asia, back in Corinth, the church he planted is turning against him. They are angry for his pastoral challenges to their lifestyle. False teachers are spreading misinformation to create distrust of Paul. During all this pain Paul holds onto comfort that comes from Jesus Christ.
