Paul begins addressing the distrust of him growing amongst the Corinthians. Paul points out we like to prove ourselves with pride. We have a list of accomplishments as reasons to be trusted. Paul says it has nothing to do with accomplishments. Pride is like a tower of blocks. All it takes is knocking a few blocks out for your world to tumble down. But, confidence in Christ is like building a house upon solid rock, a firm foundation that won’t move.
