The Elders are inviting everyone to a special time of prayer tomorrow evening, January 15th, at 6:00 PM on the third floor of the education building. We'll gather for a time of prayer for Jerry Jones, our Interim Pastor, who begins his ministry with us on Sunday, Jan. 19th. 

We'll have a meet and greet time with Jerry on Sunday, January 19th during the Sunday Morning Bible Study Hour (9:30-10:30am). Come, introduce yourself, and enjoy a time of fellowship together in the Family Life Center. 

About Jerry:

One of the most important things I can tell you about myself is that in the middle of my
senior year of high school, God began to work on my heart, and I felt His leading to go
to Ozark Christian College and study for the ministry. I knew He wanted me to be a
Youth Pastor and reach kids with the message and love of Jesus.

Over the last 43 years of ministry, not only did that happen, but He also allowed me to
lead others in Worship, Community groups, Outreach and Evangelism. I think all that
laid the foundation for me to eventually become a Lead Pastor.

My passions are evangelism, discipleship, worship among others. I love to see people
come into a relationship with Jesus. I love to help people grow in their walk with Jesus.
And I love leading people in the worship of God.

My wife, Lucy and I have been married for 43 years and we have 2 amazing boys and 7
wonderful grandkids. My hobbies are golf, tennis and walking with Lucy.

We've partnered with NxtStep Church Services to provide a Transitional Interim Pastor (TIPS). We have attached a couple links to documents that might be helpful as you understand how this Interim Ministry may be a little different from previous interim ministries we've had in the past. Thursday Morning Bible Study will meet at 11:00 AM, resuming January 9th, in the Searchlighters room. This class is for Senior Adults, but all are invited and encouraged to attend. Janella Sullivan will be leading.

In “Caught,” Caleb Buddemeyer reflects on the profound story of the woman caught in adultery from John 8. With careful insight, Caleb explores the character of Jesus, who confronts self-righteousness while extending grace and truth. This message challenges us to consider how we see others: by their sin or by their name.

The challenge was to raise $10,000 and I am pleased to let you know you far exceeded that goal. Because of your generosity, we will be sending $14,143.80 to IDES. Thank you for making a tremendous impact on the lives of those who so desperately need it. 

Your financial generosity to the church does far more than "keep the lights on." 

It supports The Immeasurably More Initiative as we seek to be a part of the story God is telling through one individual or family at a time in a way that makes a local, long-term impact, and expresses God's lavish love. 

It provides a cup of coffee and showers to 8-10 people a week.
